About me

Thanks for joining me!

“This is my shield. I bear it before me into battle, but it is not mine alone. It protects my brother on my left. It protects my city. I will never let my brother out of its shadow, nor my city out of its shelter. I will die with my shield before me facing the enemy.” – Spartan Creed

Above is the Spartan Creed. It was written on the back on my Police Academy Class shirts, and represents words Law Enforcement Officers across the country can identify with. The phrase “my shield” – the badge we wear is ours. It is something we [officers] earn. However the phrase then goes on to say “but it is not mine alone.” A Police Officer’s shield belongs to the other officers, the city, and its citizens. We as Police Officers are responsible for for protecting all of those. We must be guardians of the city, and of its citizens, but we must also be warriors.

I have been a Police Officer for seven years as of 2019; however, my public service career started back in 2002. To date, I have been certified, and worked as a Firefighter, EMT, Jailer, and Peace Officer. During my career, I have also been assigned to CID and as a Supervisor. Today though, I am just a run if the mill beat cop, and quite frankly, it’s what I prefer.

I started this Blog as a way to express my thoughts on Police, Politics,Culture, and how I view the world as it relates to being a cop.
